- Avoid sun exposure for at least 2 weeks prior to the treatment.
- Do not use any self-tanning products or sunless tanning products for at least 2 weeks prior to the treatment.
- Do not wax or shave the treatment area for at least 2 weeks prior to the treatment.
- Discontinue the use of any exfoliating agents (such as glycolic acid, retinoids, etc.) for at least 1 week prior to the treatment.
- Discontinue the use of any medications that may increase photosensitivity for at least 1 week prior to the treatment (such as certain antibiotics, oral contraceptives, etc.). If you are unsure whether a medication you are taking may increase photosensitivity, please consult with your physician.
After the Treatment:
- Avoid sun exposure for at least 2 weeks after the treatment. It is imperative that you protect your skin from sunlight during this time period in order to avoid potential complications and side effects such as hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin).
